The End of Empires and a Transforming World
After World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union became the prominent superpowers of the world. Everyone in the world had to choose a side: either communist or non-communist. But over time many other nations questioned the "superpowers" authority over others. Many uprisings in countries occurred to find their own nationalism and their own beliefs of what kind of country they should be, not governed by only two choices. The world was changing as we know it and age of no empires had arrived.
